A magical new version of Roald Dahl’s The BFG, the Olivier Award-winning Dear England, and the Agatha Christie mystery Death on the Nile are among the offerings this winter at a theatre in West Sussex.
The Chichester Festival Theatre’s winter season also consists of a new stage production of Emma and the stage debut of Inspector Morse: House of Ghosts.
Central to the festive season are Stiles & Drewe’s The Three Little Pigs and the world premiere of Matt Haig’s A Boy Called Christmas, performed by the Chichester Festival Youth Theatre in their 40th anniversary year.
Actress Miriam Margolyes, and comedians Sue Perkins and Sandi Toksvig are among those also slated to perform.
James Graham’s Dear England is being brought to Chichester by the National Theatre, while Laura Wade’s new play, based on Somerset Maugham’s The Constant Wife, comes from the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Four Chichester Festival Theatre productions will be playing in London: Oliver!, Top Hat, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
