Tesla CEO Elon Musk has acknowledged the strong public support shown by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang for his artificial intelligence (AI) startup, xAI. Huang, whose company is already an investor in xAI, confirmed his enthusiasm for the venture, saying that his regret is that the chipmaker is not able to invest more in the tech entrepreneur’s company.

“xAI, I’m super excited about the financing opportunity they’re doing,” Huang said in

“The only regret I have is I didn’t give him more money,” he added.

In a concise post on X, Musk wrote, “Nice of Jensen to say so,” in response to Huang’s recent interview where the Nvidia chief expressed regret for not investing more aggressively in xAI.

Huang praised Musk, citing his track record of founding transformative companies like SpaceX and Tesla.

Huang emphasised that “Almost everything that Elon is part of, you really want to be part of as well,” framing Nvidia’s investment in xAI as a strategic bet on a “really great future company,” rather than mere “vendor financing” intended only to secure GPU sales.

Huang also commented on the broader AI landscape, highlighting that the transition from CPU-based computing to the GPU-powered generative AI era is still in its early stages.

He noted that the industry is heading toward a multi-trillion-dollar infrastructure buildout, with both companies and customers fueling the massive growth.

The Nvidia CEO named xAI, along with ChatGPT creator OpenAI and Anthropic, as part of the new wave of AI firms reshaping computing. Huang stressed that Nvidia is continuously scouting for promising startups, noting that CoreWeave is another company in which he wished he had invested more.

“All of these investments that we’ve made recently, we’ve made some really terrific investments and largely, my only regret is that we didn’t invest more,” Huang concluded.
