Michael Dunlop set the fastest time of Sunday’s delayed final qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT.

Inclement weather led to the start of the session being delayed and when the action did get under way it was the sidecars who went out first on track at 14:45 BST.

Organisers confirmed the outfit of Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley had been involved in a crash at Rhencullen, just outside Kirk Michael on the course.

Driver Founds was taken to hospital with reported arm injuries but was said to be conscious and talking, while passenger Walmsley was unhurt.

The 35-minute session for Superbikes, Superstocks and Supersports got under way at 16:20 BST and record 29-time winner Dunlop set his fastest time of the week on his Rokit BMW to move to third place in the overall qualifying leaderboard for the week with a lap speed of 132.003mph.

Conor Cummins was quickest of the Superstocks on Sunday on 129.835, with Dean Harrison best of the Supersports at 124.736 and Paul Jordan quickest Supertwin with 118.584 in their session which involved one lap commencing at 17:00.

The race schedule for the event, which had been due to begin on Saturday, waspushed back to Mondayafter a series of weather disruptions during the opening week.

Monday’s scheduled race programme sees the Superbike race starting at 10:45 BST, with the race distance reduced to four laps instead of the previously scheduled six.

Sidecar race one is set for a 13:15 start over three laps, followed by the Supersport race one at 15:00, that race reduced from four laps to three.
