London City Lionesses Sign Spain’s Lucia Corrales and Pursue PSG Star Grace Geyoro
London City Lionesses have made headlines on transfer deadline day by signing Barcelona midfielder Lucia Corrales and continuing talks with Paris St-Germain midfielder Grace Geyoro. The WSL newcomers activated Corrales’ release clause, reported to be around £430,000, marking the fourth-highest transfer fee in Women’s Super League history.
The 19-year-old Corrales, a product of Barcelona’s prestigious La Masia academy, made her senior debut in Liga F and the Champions League during the 2022-23 season before spending last season on loan at Sevilla. Despite making her Spain full international debut in March, she was not called up for Euro 2025. She joins London City on a four-year deal and becomes the club’s 15th permanent signing this summer, highlighting their ambitious recruitment strategy.
Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing to bring France international Grace Geyoro to the club. The 28-year-old PSG midfielder, who has won 103 caps for France, started three of her nation’s four matches at Euro 2025 and scored twice as they reached the quarter-finals. Geyoro, who has spent her entire senior career at PSG, is reportedly pushing for a move and has not trained with her club while negotiations continue.
London City, owned by American businesswoman Michele Kang, are the first WSL team without a men’s club affiliation to earn promotion. Since securing their spot in the top flight, they have made a statement of intent with high-profile summer signings, including Barcelona’s Jana Fernandez, Lyon’s Danielle van de Donk, former Manchester United captain Katie Zelem, and England forward Nikita Parris.
The club’s activity demonstrates their ambition to compete at the highest level immediately, combining promising young talent like Corrales with established internationals such as Geyoro, should the deal be completed.
