Mahindraon Tuesday launched the XUV 3XO EV, priced from Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom) positioning it directly against the segment-leading Tata NexonEV. The XUV 3XO EV is offered in two variants, with the fully loaded AX7 L priced at Rs 14.96 lakh (ex-showroom). It replaces the slow-selling XUV400 EV which served as an entry-point in Mahindra’s e-SUV line-up. Deliveries for the new XUV 3XO EV will begin on February 23, 2026.

Like the Nexon EV, the XUV 3XO EV is derived from its internal combustion engine sibling, the XUV 3XO which was launched in April 2024 and has clocked around 1.8 lakh units so far. The XUV 3XO EV now becomes the new entry point to Mahindra’s electric SUV line-up, which also includes the XEV 9S, XEV 9E and BE 6.

Battery power and other vehicle details

Powering the XUV 3XO EV is a 39.4 kWh battery delivering a claimed real-world range of up to 285 km. It features a front-mounted electric motor producing 310 Nm of torque and 110 kW of power. Both variants support fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 20% to 80% in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC charger. Mahindra is also offering an optional 7.2 kW AC wall charger priced at Rs 50,000.

“With the XUV 3XO EV, we are extending the XUV 3XO’s winning proposition into electric mobility,” said Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. He added that the model is primarily targeted at first-time EV buyers. On features and safety, the XUV 3XO EV offers connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, six airbags and disc brakes on all four wheels, addressing a key gap that hurt the XUV400’s market acceptance.

Mahindra’s second attempt to challenge the Nexon EV

The XUV 3XO EV marks Mahindra’s second attempt to challenge the Nexon EV, which sold around 2 lakh units in 2025. The XUV400 that was launched back in 2023, struggled to gain traction despite offering a larger cabin and boot, largely due to a relatively limited feature set. With the feature-rich XUV 3XO EV, Mahindra is now aiming to reclaim relevance in the Rs 14–15 lakh EV segment, which also includes popular models such as the MG Windsor EV.
